Invisalign® Clear Braces

A smiling woman wearing clear braces

It has never been easier to correct mild to moderate orthodontic problems, such as crooked teeth, misalignment, or bite issues, than with Invisalign®. These clear aligners are the ideal solution for anyone seeking effective results without the need for traditional braces. Invisalign’s clear aligner trays can treat a wide range of orthodontic issues without requiring the use of metal brackets and wires, which can be uncomfortable, unattractive, and challenging to care for.

What are Invisalign® Clear Aligners?

Clear braces are today’s alternative to conventional metal braces. Instead of cementing brackets to each tooth, Invisalign uses clear plastic trays to guide your teeth into their desired positions gently. These trays fit snugly over your teeth but are not cemented into place, so they can be removed whenever you eat, drink, or brush your teeth. The aligners are almost invisible and will not be noticed by most people.

What Can Invisalign® Correct?

Invisalign clear braces can correct a wide range of mild to moderate issues with your smile, including:

  • Crowding
  • Gaps
  • Misalignment
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite

The Invisalign® Process

We will conduct a comprehensive dental exam, including 3D digital scans, during your initial consultation. These digital images are used to give you a preview of what your smile will look like after treatment is completed. We send these images to the dental lab, where a series of clear braces is created that are custom-fitted to your teeth. When we receive your aligners, you will return to our office so that we can make sure your clear braces fit properly.

Your series of clear braces guides your teeth into their proper positions by exerting gentle pressure. Every few weeks, you will switch to a new set of aligners that move your teeth a bit more. Wearing your clear braces 20 to 22 hours daily is crucial to the success of your Invisalign treatment. We will schedule periodic checkups in our office (usually every six to eight weeks) so that we can monitor your progress.

Invisalign® FAQs

Is Invisalign expensive?

Invisalign clear braces are comparable in price to traditional braces. We will determine the cost of your treatment based on the complexity of your case and the number of aligners required. We can discuss payment options, including CareCredit, at your appointment.

Does dental insurance cover Invisalign?

Many dental insurance policies cover clear aligners at the same rate as traditional braces. Your policy may cover a percentage of the cost or up to a particular dollar amount. Contact your insurance company to determine your coverage limits.

How do I clean my Invisalign clear braces?

We recommend brushing them over all surfaces with a soft-bristle toothbrush using a small amount of toothpaste and cool water.

Is Invisalign® treatment painful?

Because your clear aligners slowly move your teeth into their new positions, they are moving within the jawbone. This is a gradual process, but some people do experience mild discomfort the first few days after switching to a new set of aligners.
